Today one of the dragons joined our army. Of course I have heard stories about dragons before but to stand next to such a magnificent beast is something completely different. The troops were quite nervous at first. Most of them are no veterans anyway and lack even the most basic training. However, when the orcs ascended from the hills in a surprise attack in the evening, the dragon drove them off almost single-handedly. My men, inspired by our mighty alley, joined the fight and won an admittedly easy victory. I have to admit though in the short conversation I had with the dragon he left little doubt that he would not follow my commands but do as it pleases him. As long as he provides us with victories, I will accept that. We desperately need some victories now.
