Scarith and the fury of the Scarab-Pharaoh

Scarith was a tyrannical Wyrm, the gleeful hunter of the desert tribes for countless generations, forever blocking their passage to the fertile western jungles. The desert people begged their Pharaos for succour, but every ruler wisely refused to challenge the beast, hoping only to keep its attention away from their grand city.
Only one, Pharaoh Tukhaman, who stood at the close of his long life, made a final, grand gesture. Knowing his end was at hand, the Pharaoh first settled all his affairs and summoned his descendants and chief advisors. With solemn dignity, he imparted his final, wise counsels to his heirs, preparing them for a future without his guidance. Only then did he order his servants to clad him once more in his tarnished battle armour. He took up his old weapons, dull and blunt from disuse. Though barely able to walk under the weight of his gear, the old Pharaoh marched out to face the Dragon.
The ensuing confrontation was a brief, tragic massacre. Scarith made quick work of the ancient king, devouring the old Pharaoh in triumph.
Unbeknownst to the Wyrm, the Pharaoh had a final, terrible passenger. Tukhaman had swallowed a number of Scarab eggs-the kind laid by the great Tibian Scarabs, which are the size of a hog, meaning the eggs were large as a fist and ripe to hatch. In the sudden, unnatural warmth of the Dragon's belly, the eggs hatched prematurely. The larvae, driven by instinct, burrowed their way through the Dragon's body as they would through the earth. Scarith's triumph was short-lived. He collapsed from the sky with a final, choked bellow, his vast body having been entirely consumed from within by the swarming pestilence of the Scarabs.
